Course Summary:
Through consultation, research and analysis, an Outreach Co-ordinator will identify groups of people who are under-represented in TAFE NSW college enrolments.
Course Content:
The Co-ordinator will contact these individuals and groups, and invite them to a consultation about their educational needs.
Students then participate in identifying their educational needs, in course design, in ongoing evaluation and in modification of the course to meet changes in needs.
Subjects from a wide range of other TAFE NSW courses are offered through Outreach courses. Students who successfully complete these subjects gain advanced standing in the
course from which the subject is drawn.
Examples of courses currently provided are:
>English for Parents.
>Turkish Literacy.
>Introduction to Computers.
>Work opportunities for women.
>English for Restaurant Workers.
>English Language Skills – Spanish.
>Job Seeking Skills for Vietnamese.
>Introduction to the Aged Care Industry
Eligibility:
Educationally isolated or disadvantaged adults.

Students decide on course location (often off campus) and the time and the length of the course.
