Course Summary:
To develop the communication skills and job seeking strategies of skilled NESB migrants with overseas experience so that they can successfully compete for employment commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
Course Content:
> Job-seeking skills and strategies appropriate for current labour market.
> Development of awareness and knowledge of Australian workplace culture.
> Further definition of short and long term work goals.
> Communication and literacy skills needed for casual and formal workplace communication.
> Access to a Job Search Centre which provides phones, fax, computers and facilities to assist in the job seeking process.
> Development of awareness and knowledge of Australian workplace culture.
> Further definition of short and long term work goals.
> Communication and literacy skills needed for casual and formal workplace communication.
> Access to a Job Search Centre which provides phones, fax, computers and facilities to assist in the job seeking process.
Outcomes:
This course leads to a Certificate in Spoken and Written English IV: Job seeking.
Eligibility:
NSW permanent residents of non-English speaking backgrounds with overseas qualifications, training, skills and/or experience who are seeking employment in their area of expertise.Language proficiency - Advanced (ISLPR 2)
