The school has been a member of the ACT Ethnic School Association for the past ten years. We have great support from the Macedonian community from Canberra and Queanbeyan. The ages of our students varies from K- 12.

The major aim of the program is to develop the children’s ability to communicate in their first language. Parents are very enthusiastic in their support in promoting the Macedonian language program together with the teacher and principal.

Children enjoy learning about the sounds and rhythms of Macedonian dance and music and experimenting with language to express feelings and ideas. They learn to talk, listen, read and write and to create and interpret texts.

Role-playing and games are frequently used strategies, which help keep the children actively involved. There are also themes about the Macedonian culture and legends, history, poetry, literature and other creative arts: Macedonian drama and art. The lessons include activities such as questions/answer exercises in Macedonian, short plays games and songs. We encourage students to write stories and poems and illustrate them.
