Acting Together Armenian-Turkish Reconciliation project
“Acting Together” is a joint initiative of DVV International and its partners, the History Foundation (Turkey) and the Armenian Centre for Ethnological Studies “Hazarashen” (Armenia) and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. A century after the Genocide, we aim at building bridges between the people of Turkey and Armenia through adult education, journalism, oral history and art.
Preparation and Timeline
Selected participants will be required to attend three preparatory workshops in their respective countries before the joint journey in September. The workshops will be held in July and August (the dates to be defined) and would cover the following:
• Project presentation and discussion;
• Introduction to Oral History methodology;
• Conflict resolution skills;
You will be also required to read materials included in a Reading Package. The participation in these workshops, as well as final meeting in Istanbul in 2016 (dates to be clarified) is mandatory.
The desired applicants should also meet the following general criteria:
• Armenian or Turkish nationals;
• aged between 20 and 28;
• be able to use English language independently in
both written and oral communication;
• be available and fully committed to take part in
the entire journey;
• be able to attend preparation and complementary
activities that will take place before and after
the journey;
• be motivated to learn about the communities and
local realities in one another’s countries;
• be willing to transcribe the conducted interviews
after the journey

1. Road Magazine
The workshop addresses students as well as postgraduates interested in creating and/or changing public discourse from the following disciplines:
• Editorial design & typography
• Photography & photojournalism
• Journalism & writing
The desired applicants should also meet the following general criteria:
• Armenian or Turkish nationals;
• aged between 20 and 28;
• be able to use English language independently in both written and oral communication;
• be available and fully committed to take part in the entire journey;
• be able to attend preparation and complementary activities that will take place before and after
the journey;
• be motivated to learn about the communities and local realities in one another’s countries;
Interested candidates should submit a Motivation Letter, their most recent C.V., and the completed Application Form (attached) to the following e-mail address mentioned.
In addition to these, applicants to the Road Magazine workshop may also send a short portfolio with their recent work. The application package should be in English.

Topic and format
The focus of the conference will be on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, simulating a GENERAL ASSEMBLY session with three of its committees or three parallel thematic conferences or working groups.
Date and Venues
The conference will be held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (to be confirmed), two working days at the American University of Armenia, and the closing session at the UN House in Yerevan.
