Course type:
Course Summary:
To improve English language skills, develop strategies and skills to deal with the variety of task types encountered in the IELTS test and provide exercises to practice all sections of the test.
Course Content:
Listening module: predicting questions, following instructions, focusing on more than one question at a time, listening for names, dates and numbers.
Reading module: skimming for overall ideas, scanning for specific information, identifying main points, dealing with
unknown vocabulary.
Writing module: analysing questions for task requirement, topic and purpose, describing and interpreting diagrams,
tables and graphs; Task 1 type essays, identifying and understanding the language features of discussion and
explanatory essays, understanding text organisation, introductory, body and concluding paragraphs; Task 2 type essays.
Speaking module: predicting the topics, responding appropriately, giving an organised answer, asking questions
correctly.

Outcomes:
On successful completion of this course student will be prepared to sit the IELTS test.

Appropriate level of English proficiency as assessed by Insearch entry test.

Courses offered every 5 weeks. Classes are held Monday to Friday. 20 hours a week for 5 weeks.
